My career in women's mental health was shaped by a patient I met on my first day of clinic during psychiatry residency. She was a young woman with bipolar disorder who was pregnant with her first child. I cared for her throughout my residency and for several years afterward. Supporting her during such an important and vulnerable time had a profound impact on me and led me to focus my career on caring for women with mood and anxiety disorders during pregnancy and the postpartum period.I have developed expertise in women's mental health, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and midlife mental health. I am passionate about helping women navigate emotional and mental health challenges during periods of significant life change and providing care that supports their well-being at every stage.Outside of medicine, I enjoy hiking, gardening and cooking, which help me recharge and maintain balance in my life.
