About Ali Golden, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, Nurse Practitioner
I was looking for a challenge when I joined the Army, so I asked the career counselor for the hardest job available at the time. I was assigned to the Army's enlisted nursing program and never looked back. Decades after completing my first nursing training, I now hold a terminal degree in the field and can't imagine doing anything else. What I find most rewarding about medicine is the opportunity to learn from and be inspired by my patients, their care partners and my colleagues, both professionally and personally. Every step forward in my career has been shaped by the countless people whose paths have crossed mine along the way.I love supporting and guiding patients as they navigate serious illness. There is no greater honor than creating the time and space for someone to share who they are and what matters most to them, then partnering with them to develop a care plan that reflects who they are beyond their illness. I am passionate about equity in health care and do everything in my power to ensure my patients receive the care that is most meaningful to them.Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my dog, a Labrador/Great Dane mix who loves hiking, swimming and camping. Fresh air in any form — from a mountain climb to reading on my porch — helps me relax and recharge.
