About Judy Schaechter, MD, MBA, Pediatrician
I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine because, like many pediatricians, I have always wanted to help others and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, families and communities. That remains my mission today.I have expertise in general pediatrics, caring for patients from birth through young adulthood, with a strong emphasis on prevention and health promotion. I enjoy working with families to help prevent injury, infection and chronic disease, and to support physical, mental and emotional well-being.As a child without health insurance, I experienced firsthand the compassion, generosity and humor of my own pediatrician, Dr. Dorsey, who cared for my sisters and me. That example continues to shape my approach, and I strive to honor it in my own practice.Outside of medicine, I value time with my family, friends and my dog, Archie. My husband and I enjoy dancing, especially swing and salsa. I am an avid reader and also enjoy hiking, water sports and finding value in what might otherwise be overlooked, including interests like kintsugi, thrift shopping and furniture restoration.
